Modular MCP Tool Platform
An evolving concept for a platform that makes MCP integrations easier to register, configure, govern, document, and expose to compatible AI clients through a controlled interface.

Problem
Problem being solved
Every new MCP integration currently means a new server, new auth wiring, and new documentation. As the number of tools grows, teams need one place to register tools, control who can use them, and see how they are used.
Architecture
- 01Developer registers a toolmanifest · schema · docs
- 02Registry & policy engineversions · access policies · env config
- 03MCP gatewaydiscovery · authz · rate limits
- 04AI clientsonly see tools they are allowed to use
Long-term vision
Additional tools and integrations can be registered, configured, documented, and exposed to compatible AI clients through a controlled interface, without standing up a new server for every integration.

Open questions
- How should tools declare the scopes they need, and who approves them?
- Should policy live with the tool, the client, or the user's identity?
- What is the smallest useful version that is still worth deploying?
